East Coast USA: GPS positioning

It sounds like your antenna is only seeing about 50% of the sky as it is tilted toward the eastern horizon. This is not ideal and causes poor satellite geometry and poor accuracy. Tilting the antenna to the horizon also picks up noise radiated from the earth, power lines and buildings. It will improve if you can mount it further from the wall and with the dome side facing straight up (label side down). Try to set it for a clear view of the full sky (or as much sky as possible). 50ft of cable is too much cable and will add losses to the signals which are extremely weak to start with.

Here's a sample, Harry. Two transmissions, 2 minutes apart. Clearly an unmodulated carrier. It is also at a lower power level. I won't be sending the unit back as the cost of return international freight a second time will far exceed the cost price. I think this is destined for the bin.
