I think it will be difficult for me to improve the efficiency of the vertically oriented G5RV antenna at KH6KR by anything close to the 13 dB I would gain with 5W output power.
On Maui I am receiving more distant 80M stations, most of them running 5W, than are receiving the 200 mW Zachtek transmissions. But my goal is not to win the 'top spotted' race, but rather to probe for antenna performance and propagation events which are demonstrably not recorded with the current 200 mW TX power output.

While here are 24 hours of 80M spots recorded by my nearby (15 Km) AI6VN/KH6 receive site. All the more distant spots are 1-5W transmissions.
As an example of the insights one might gain from higher tx power, the one KH6KR spot reported by a VK was at -31 dB while the many VK spots reported by AI6VN/KH6 are as strong as -20 dB. That suggests that with more VK reports I might see evidence that my tx antenna is even more efficient that those used by the VK sites.
