Can anyone point me to an economical point of sale for surface mount L and C components that would be viable for LPF construction? I do not wish to mod my ZT Desktop - Mid WSPR Transmitter, but I'm looking at playing with RPi-3 and WSPRRY library... Suggestions? 73 KJ4VPI, Sam

Harry, So I think you need a Forum specifically for this subject. I know the following has been discussed as possible enhancements: programmable gains / output power, and enhanced band scheduling based on time of day or priority. Got another for you. So I'm going to start experimenting with a 10W amplifier. It has a Push-To-Talk (PTT) capability. In idle, the amp pulls only 0.4A, but in transmit, somewhere between 2A and 4A, nominally 3A. Here is the item on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/10W-HF-PA-10-watts-13-5v-HF-amplifier-for-HAM-radio-CW-SSB-FM-digital/332237134236?hash=item4d5ae0599c:g:EdYAAOSwvylbVKEA So one idea would be to enhance the transmitter with an extra set of dry contacts to perform the PTT key-down function. While the transmitter is waiting, it could allow an external amp to go into a low-power mode, which would be good if say, using a battery supply. S.

I've added the product to the EHAM.NET site and entered my initial impressions as a review. Perhaps others would be equally inclined to provide their impressions so that more people learn about this product. I am really enjoying the updated Mid+ version!!! FWIW, my product review is located here: https://www.eham.net/reviews/view-product?id=14527

Harry, Having too much fun with the WSPR-Desktop (MID+) Transmitter. Wondering if in a future revision of the firmware for the unit, we might have a rudimentary scheduler, so that in autonomous mode, during certain periods (UTC Start/End), transmissions on a band are either active, or skipped (whichever is easier). On the lower-bands for example, I might not want to use their time slots during the day in the rotation to transmit, because I'm likely not to be heard with the power and antenna I have. I may have some other reason to want to de-emphasize a particular band. I suspect with your API this could be done, but I might want to have my transmitter outside in a water-proof enclosure, and not connected to a computer to send commands to the transmitter. I don't know, maybe it's a crazy suggestion, but thought I'd ask. Sam
